The project, “Empowering women artisan- Boosting local communities’ economy” in Lushnja Municipality, intends to improve the situation for the women artisans, who are disproportionately affected by the factors that limit their economic empowerment, regardless of their ability to scale up their craftmanship businesses and improve the livelihoods of their families and communities.
Crafts are recognized as a part of Albania’s creative economy and a valuable sector and its full potential is still developing. The craft sector empowers women by providing financial independence, increasing their social status, and giving them a platform to develop skills. It offers opportunities to generate income, contribute to household decisions, challenge gender roles, and foster greater equality and sustainable development within the local communities.
“Refleksione” aims to strengthen women artisans’ skills and increase their access to markets by providing capacity building and entrepreneurial training based on four main pillars of activities: (a)Providing legal education /capacity building;
(b) Organize Workshop and Apprenticeship, Mentorship process, to ensure continuity of traditional crafts and empower younger women to participate in the local craft sector and a unified brand for the artisanal product;
(c) Training: Provide digital knowledge, use of social media, e-commerce, online platform and how to expand market access;
